Honeycomb Stitch Beanie with Pom-Pom | New Majovel Crochet Design

Honeycomb Stitch Beanie with Pom-Pom | New Majovel Crochet Design

Hello, my dear hearts!
This week I’m bringing you a project I absolutely fell in love with: a honeycomb-stitch beanie with a fluffy pom-pom, a warm, soft and beautifully textured accessory that’s perfect for the cold season. It’s a classic piece that works with any outfit and never goes out of style.

As always, I designed it so you can adapt it to any size—from baby to adult—and enjoy the process when you follow the step-by-step video tutorial on my channel. Here you’ll find all the inspiration, ideas, recommended materials and the graphic pattern, without explaining how to crochet it directly in the post.

Design Inspiration

This beanie was born from a simple idea: creating a texture that stands out even in light colors, while keeping the softness and warmth of handmade clothing. The honeycomb stitch adds volume without feeling heavy, and the big pom-pom gives it that cute, playful touch so many of you love.

I wanted it to be an everyday accessory—perfect for walking around the city, casual outings, winter trips, or simply complementing a cozy look. It’s a beanie that feels modern, feminine and beautifully delicate.

🧵 Recommended Materials

These are the materials I used and those I recommend so you get the same soft and structured finish:

  • Baby-soft acrylic yarn or a gentle blend (3–4 mm)

  • 3.5 mm or 4 mm crochet hook (choose the one that suits your yarn)

  • Scissors

  • Yarn needle

  • Pom-pom maker (optional, you can also make it by hand)

If you want an even fluffier texture, choose yarns with a touch of alpaca or light merino.

🎨 Variations to Personalize Your Beanie

This design is very adaptable. Try some of these ideas:

  • Change the color: neutrals, pastels or vibrant hues

  • Make the pom-pom bigger or smaller

  • Skip the pom-pom and add a decorative button instead

  • Make it longer for a slouchy-style beanie

  • Create a matching scarf or cowl in the same stitch

As always, the best experience is in the video. There I show you everything:
how to start, how to keep the right tension in the honeycomb stitch, how to shape a clean brim and how to attach the pom-pom so it stays firm and beautiful.
